One Month in South Africa

Travel

South Africa – the city of Cape Town, the gorgeous wine lands, beautiful nature to explore, and the quintessential safari experience are just a few of the wonders the country proudly has to offer. From the “musts” of hiking Table Mountain and Lion’s Head, attending a Zulu wedding ceremony, marveling at the notorious Cape Point, to gushing over the penguins of Boulder’s Beach, or getting up close with wildlife on safari, it is an amazing Nation full of beauty and surprise.

I was lucky enough to spend a whole month there with friends from the city, getting to know the country, it’s inhabitants, and lovely culture. September 24th marks Heritage Day for the country, so happy to share my first video to highlight what my month in South Africa was like.

Heritage Day is one of the newly created South African public holidays which encourages all to celebrate the cultural traditions in the wider context of the great diversity of cultures, beliefs, and traditions that make up the nation of South Africa.

Former President Nelson Mandela stated:”When our first democratically-elected government decided to make Heritage Day one of our national days, we did so because we knew that our rich and varied cultural heritage has a profound power to help build our new nation.”
