How to Celebrate a Virtual Mother’s Day in Quarantine

Lifestyle

There is no denying Mother’s Day will look a little bit different this year. Even though celebrating a virtual Mother’s Day in quarantine away from loved ones can be tough, there are lots of unique virtual gift ideas for Mother’s Day that you can do together.

Here are 6 ways to celebrate a virtual Mother’s Day in quarantine:

Take a Virtual Vacation

I recently asked my mom what was one thing she wishes she’d accomplished in life that she hasn’t yet. Her response? Swim with dolphins. While that’s not the easiest gift to pull off – especially now – you can have a little fun with it. Zoom offers a variety of fun beach-themed backgrounds to choose from for your calls. Have her pick one with dolphins while you have your Mother’s Day celebration online.

Host a Virtual Brunch

Run through the family recipe book and pick out something you both love. Send your mom the shopping list (or better yet, do it for her and get it delivered), then cook it together while catching up through video call.

Make your virtual Mother’s Day brunch feel more real by choosing a theme for your meal – pasta in Rome, anyone?

Online plant & flower delivery

Pick some of your mom’s favorite things and have them surprise-delivered to her door. Since we’re all spending much more time inside now, get her some beautiful indoor plants or flowers. Some of my favorite online plant delivery stores are Modern Sprout, Plant Shed, Plants.com, Bloomscape and The Sill.

Beauty and wellness products

I’ve listed my favorites for self-care, wellness and clean beauty products to spoil your mom on my blog.

Customized photo album

Did you recently go on a trip together or find old pictures from 15 years ago? Why not make it into a photo album? Some good services that print and deliver are Mixbook, Snapfish and Shutterfly

Send her a cute Mother’s Day e-card

Moms love getting mail! Especially if it’s a sign of life from her kids. Send her a cute virtual Mother’s Day card to show you’re thinking of her.

Workout together

All of us have been scrambling to adjust to our new normal, and while temporary, practicing mindfulness is crucial right now. I have in collaboration with some of my favorite instructors and healers created this master COVID-19 Wellness, Yoga & Meditation Online Class Schedule full of information and access to teachers to help keep us sane and moving!

Working out together is such a fun way to bond, so pick one (or more!) workouts from this list to do with your mom.

Show her that you’re happy

All moms just want to be reassured their kids are happy. Show her that you’re taking good care of yourself through wellness, exercise or meditation.

If you’re lacking accountability, I’m inviting you to my 21 day meditation challenge to help us learn how to manifest abundance, and to see the positives and beauty in everyday life when we need it most. It’s completely free and opens the 1st of every month.

You’ll receive a daily email from me with:

  • centering theme, talk, and short meditation moment in a 10 – 15 minute video
  • Sanskrit mantra
  • highest self task to help you realize your truths and desires on your path to manifest abundance

You can even have your mom sign up with you to hold each other accountable and track your progress.

While we’re all experiencing Mother’s Day in a unique position this year, there’s still plenty of ways to celebrate your mom and togetherness with some creative ideas, like the ones above.
